BARON FLYNT
[attr="class,"application"]BASICS
Age 55
Gender Male (He/Him)
Height 5'3"
Weight 110lbs
Alignment Lawful Evil
Group Bandits, former lord of the most powerful Bandit empire on Pandora, currently unaffiliated to any gang.
Weapon of Choice Shotguns of any sort, current preference towards Torgue guns.
APPEARANCE
Skin Tone Pale, to an almost uncomfortable level.
Hair Style Short and spiked, with rather dramatic sideburns.
Hair Color Black, though notably greying in tone.
Clothing Style Loose, comfortable clothing, currently also outfitted with scrapped components of Alas' Crimson Lance armor, since repainted in black. He wears a well-worn poncho over all of it. At present he hides his face behind a respirator- clearly modified from a Lance helmet, and a pair of goggles, with a hooded scarf worn over that.
Body Type Skinny, with some measure of muscle there. Would probably be underweight if not for his muscle mass.
Notable Scars Baron Flynt is essentially covered in scars these days. Notably, his face bears scarring from a phase-blast from Lilith, and he moves with a slight limp due to a rather severely damaged leg that never quite healed right. Otherwise, under his clothing he bears numerous scars from bullets, blades, angry birds...the usual sort for a notable Bandit leader really.
INTERNAL
Personality There is a sense of dignity to the way Baron Flynt holds himself, a proud man with a reason to BE proud. His even temper and generally polite mannerisms have a tendency to disarm people, leaving them more at ease around him than they should be. He is incredibly charismatic, and completely aware of the fact he is someone people instinctively trust and see as a good person. In a sense, he considers himself to be one- after all, he follows his code of conduct well, had has a sense of duty.
He is, for all intents and purposes, a likable man.
He is also, however, an utterly brutal man who is unafraid to do what he deems necessary to make a point. He has been known for cruel methods of execution for those who particularly annoy him, and it is unknown what would happen to those who genuinely ignite his wrath (as he is slow to anger) but it is widely believed to be a fate worse than death to do so.
He is someone used to having power, and is eager enough to have it back that he is not above manipulation of others to get his goals. He will always look out for himself first, looking for the benefits his actions will have- and how someone can ultimately further his goals. He does not go out of his way to cause trouble for himself, nor is he someone who goes about harming others for the sake of harming them, but he will do anything if there is gain in it for him. Whatever he does, there is always some sense of purpose to it.
Likes Shotguns, Thor, Power, Honest People
Dislikes The Crimson Raiders, Atlas, Hyperion, Liars, Traitors
Fears Never regaining his power, Never leaving a legacy behind on Pandora
CHARACTER WHEREABOUTS
Seven years ago, the very first Vault Hunters found themselves on Pandora, and fought their way across the planet to the Vault. In that time, they went head to head with the most powerful Bandit clan on the planet, and finally faced off against it’s ruthless leader- Baron Flynt. Upon defeating the bandit lord, a crushing discovery of betrayal left the Vault Hunters so shaken and furious that they forgot one very important little detail- to ensure that they had actually finished him off.
Though grievously injured, Baron Flynt remained alive, and found enough strength to gather supplies, some weapons and escape the now empty Thor. He scavenged gear off of some of the corpses of Lance soldiers he found at the base of the digger, and slipped off into the wilds of Pandora, unknown to the Vault Hunters, or those of his followers who remained. What followed was the greatest collapse of power Pandora would see until the fall of Helios- rivaling even the destruction of Atlas during Athena’s betrayal.
As Flynt recovered, tending to his wounds and forming a plan of revenge against the Vault Hunters who had cost him everything, he watched all the power he had once built implode, collapsing in upon itself in a flurry of infighting. With his right hand, Krom, dead as well, there was no one to step up and fill the void left, and so his remaining Lieutenants turned on one another and saw the formation of several smaller bands of bandits- the Bloodshots at their dam, the forces in the Southern Shelf led by Captain Flynt, and many others. All the while, he refused to come forward to unite them- knowing it would be too risky, especially with Hyperion on the move, taking action against any and all bandit groups on Pandora.
For the seven years since his defeat, and his loss of power, Baron Flynt wandered Pandora, letting rumors of his survival crop up from those who saw him, and knew his face. He has become something of a local cryptid, which suits him just fine- he has no desire for the Crimson Raiders to believe rumors of his survival are anything less than Bandit legend. The less they come sniffing for him, the better in his eyes.
Finally, with Hyperion out of the picture after the collapse of Helios, he is ready to make his move, having patiently bided his time thus far. The time had come for him to pull out the ace up his sleeve, to call on a favor from an old friend to restore his power- he was ready to seek out Vallory and use her base of power to build himself a new empire.
With no knowledge of her demise, he set out to find her- not knowing he would find a very different sort of familiar face at the head of her massive gang…
